Located in the heart of downtown Janesville, Wisconsin, the Venue is the premier event venue in Southern Wisconsin. After being vacant for 50 years, the building has been painstakingly restored to bring back the beauty and charm of this historic building for its use as a leading banquet and event facility. Book your special event at the Venue and enjoy the freedom of choosing any licensed and insured caterer. Beverage and alcohol service is available through the Venue. Tables, chairs and glassware are included in the pricing as well as an onsite event coordinator to assist you at your event. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Venue features three unique rooms to suit your needs for events ranging from 10-350 people.

The Venue is an extremely unique space that can accommodate groups ranging from a small seminar to a wedding reception. We have three exceptional rooms that can be rented to make the vision of your special event come to life. Our whole facility is ADA-compliant and has been beautifully restored to preserve its historic elegance.

The Venue has three distinctive and unique rooms to perfectly accommodate a variety of functions. The Bower City Ballroom is our main space that can host large group gatherings, large seminars, wedding ceremonies and wedding receptions. The Second Empire Room is perfect for smaller gatherings such as seminars and parties as well as a special room for the bride before the ceremony. Our 1870’s Room offers a built-in-bar which makes it ideal for cocktail receptions, smaller receptions, seminars or holiday parties.
We held both our ceremony and reception at The Venue and everything was perfect! Teryn is amazing at communication and answering every question that comes up. Claudine was our day of coordinator and she was amazing! So helpful and on top of everything. The flip from ceremony to reception was seamless, I loved that we had space to get ready there day of and of course the whole venue is just stunning.
We had our wedding at The Venue during the COVID-19 pandemic. The event coordinator, Teryn, did a phenomenal job of keeping us up to date on all the latest changes and mandates. She worked with us during all the planning and made the stress of wedding planning so much lighter. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue. All of our guests were comfortable and raved about how beautiful the location was. We were able to pick up all of our decor a few days after our event to let us recover from the chaos of the day. I couldn’t imagine having our perfect day anywhere else.
My experience with the Venue was amazing. My husband and I were drawn to them because of the historical nature of the building in our community. They were able to meet with me when I needed even though it wasn’t always conducive to their schedule, they offered me assistance above and beyond what was required of them as a venue and they were kind and supportive through the whole process. I would highly recommend them as a venue.
My husband and I had our wedding and reception at The Venue this past June. Natalie was fantastic to work with and went out of her way to meet all of our needs. The building itself it absolutely gorgeous and we could not have asked for a better setting for our day. It was over 90 degrees the day we got married so most of our photographs ended up being inside, but the building offers so many beautiful backgrounds and settings that we were able to get amazing photographs. We would highly recommend the Venue- the historical building was a magical setting, the people were all fantastic to work with, and it is a great value.
Natalie from The Venue was absolutely wonderful at helping make sure that everything went smoothly for our reception. She was very responsive throughout the entire process. Our guests were amazed at the beauty and character of The Venue. On our wedding day, we had a few friends designated to help switch on the lights and light the candles on our centerpieces, when they arrived there was the pleasant surprise that all of it had already been done by The Venue staff. By far the best reception venue in Janesville!
